What Is the Selection and Maintenance of Steel and Wood Doors? What Is the Cleaning Method of Steel and Wood Doors?

The anti-theft function of steel wood doors is known for its strong security capabilities, while also offering a unique style that is loved by consumers. It has become a loyal guardian for many families, providing them with peace of mind. However, in order to ensure the longevity and effectiveness of steel wood doors, daily maintenance is crucial. Unfortunately, many consumers are unaware of the proper selection, maintenance, and cleaning methods for these doors. In this article, we will provide you with detailed knowledge on how to select and maintain steel wood doors, as well as the best cleaning methods to keep them in pristine condition.

Selection of Steel Wood Doors:

When it comes to selecting steel wood doors, there are a few important factors to consider. The surface treatment technology of the door leaf plays a significant role in the appearance and durability of the door. Currently, there are primarily two types of surface treatment processes available in the market.

What Is the Selection and Maintenance of Steel and Wood Doors? What Is the Cleaning Method of Steel and Wood Doors? 1

The first is the film pasting process, where the surface of the steel plate is covered with an imitation wood grain material using a heat sealing PVC compound. While this process may initially provide an appealing appearance, it is prone to issues such as degumming, delamination, and color fading, especially when exposed to fluctuating temperatures. Scratches from sharp tools can also cause degumming and corrosion.

The second surface treatment process is the transfer printing and paint baking process. This involves treating the steel plate with a phosphating solution, followed by plastic spraying on the bottom of the plate. The wood grain is then transferred onto the paint, which is baked to create a stable and durable surface. This method ensures excellent performance and longevity.

Another important aspect to consider during the selection process is the material used for the door pocket. There are four main categories of door pocket materials available in the market: multilayer board veneer, density board, steel door cover, and multilayer board UV paint finish.

Multilayer board veneer door pockets are made of multilayer board film or sticker paint. However, the bonding process used on the surface makes them susceptible to delamination, blistering, and deformations caused by anaerobic bacteria, especially in damp conditions.

Density board door pockets have a surface coating of paint or PVC film on a board made of straw fibers and glue. These doors are prone to expansion, molding, and deformation when exposed to moisture, which can significantly reduce their density, nail holding capacity, and overall lifespan.

Steel door covers are made using the same manufacturing process as steel doors, ensuring that there is no color difference between the door cover and the door leaf. However, these pockets often have a single-sided design with simple lines, which may not match the essence of a steel wood door.

Multilayer board UV paint finish door pockets, on the other hand, are a newer alternative that uses transfer wood grain and surface UV paint finish technology. These doors provide a full-color range and excellent performance due to the UV paint finish, which prevents deformation, cracking, moisture damage, heat damage, wear and tear, and pollution.

In addition to considering the door pocket material, it is also important to pay attention to the line material. There are three main categories of lines available in the market: wood plastic lines, plastic steel lines, and plastic steel paint baking lines.

Wood plastic lines have a wood plastic base material coated with a film or sticker paint. However, the bonding process used on the surface often leads to peeling, blistering, and pulverization of the material.

Plastic steel lines have a plastic steel base material surface coating, but they also suffer from issues such as peeling and blistering due to the bonding process used.

Plastic steel paint baking lines, on the other hand, use a transfer printing wood grain and UV paint finishing process. These lines offer a full and gorgeous color range, ensuring a high-quality product.

Lastly, the thickness of the steel plate used in steel wood doors is also an important consideration. The thickness of the steel plate is a reflection of the product's quality. It is best to opt for a door with a steel plate thickness of 0.5mm or above for better flatness, smoothness, stability, and impact resistance. Some inferior products may have a steel plate thickness of 0.3mm or thinner, resulting in poor surface quality and insufficient rigidity of the door body. Resisting such inferior products is recommended to maintain the industry's competition order and protect consumer interests.

Maintenance of Steel Wood Doors:

To ensure a long lifespan and optimal performance of steel wood doors, proper maintenance is essential. Here are some maintenance tips to follow:

1. Regular cleaning: Clean the door panel regularly using a soft, dry cotton cloth or silk. For stubborn stains, you can use a neutral detergent, toothpaste, or a furniture-specific cleaning agent. Ensure that you clean the stain first and then wipe it dry. Avoid washing the door with water.

2. Rust removal: In case there is rust caused by surface dirt, you can clean it using a 10% nitric acid solution, an abrasive detergent, or special rust removal products available in the market.

3. Stainless steel surface cleaning: When cleaning stainless steel surfaces, avoid scratching them and refrain from using washing solutions, steel wool, or abrasive tools that contain bleaching ingredients. To remove any cleaning solution residue, wash the surface with clean water after cleaning.

Cleaning Method of Steel Wood Doors:

The cleaning method for steel wood doors primarily involves regular dusting and spot cleaning. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Dusting: Gently wipe the door surfaces with a soft, dry cloth or a feather duster to remove any dust or loose dirt. Be sure to reach all the corners and edges of the door panels.

2. Spot cleaning: If you notice any stains or spills on the door, use a mild soap or detergent mixed with water to create a cleaning solution. Apply the solution to a soft cloth and gently rub the stain in a circular motion until it disappears. Take care not to scrub too hard, as it may damage the door's finish. Once the stain is removed, wipe the area with a clean, damp cloth to remove any soapy residue, and then dry it with a soft cloth.

3. Avoid using harsh chemicals: It is important to refrain from using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or steel wool for cleaning steel wood doors, as these may cause damage to the surface.

By following these selection, maintenance, and cleaning guidelines, you can ensure that your steel wood doors remain in top condition for years to come. Remember, regular maintenance and proper care can prolong the effective life of your doors, providing you with security, style, and peace of mind.
